WIN a Design Indaba Expo 2014 Ticket With House of York!

Enter our Toothpick Art Competition by 23 February 2014 and stand a chance to WIN a Design Indaba ticket and be a House of York representative at the event.

The Design Indaba Expo 2014 will take place in Cape Town from 26 February until 28 February at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. Each year, Design Indaba showcases national designs and creative businesses. From graphic design, art and publishers; to fashion and new media – they have everything that has anything to do with being creative.

How to Enter House of York’s Competition

We want all you budding designers out there to use House of York’s toothpicks and/or skewers to design something. Be creative and design anything you want! If you need some inspiration, take a look at some of our toothpick art pins on Pinterest.

Once you have completed your work of art, simply email it to us at designindaba@hoycompetitions.co.za and we will upload it to our Facebook page for the public to see.

The winner will receive one ticket to the Design Indaba Expo 2014 and will be representing House of York by using their own Twitter account to live tweet throughout the expo using the hashtags #HouseofYork and #DesignIndaba.

Competition closes on Sunday, 23 February. The winner will be announced on Monday, 24 February.

Please note that participants of this competition must reside in Cape Town.

Competition Rules

All competitions are conducted in accordance with the provisions of section 54 of the Lotteries Amendment Act, 2001, as amended. By entering into this competition, entrants agree to the rules as stipulated below:

The competition is NOT open to the following people: a) Directors, members, partners, agents, employees or consultants of Eveready (Pty) Ltd / House of York / Boomtown Strategic Brand Agency or any associated partner of the aforementioned companies b)The spouse, life partner, parent, child, brother, sister, business partner or associate of any of the persons specified in a) above.

• The competition period will be from 10 February 2014 to 23 February 2014. No late entries will be accepted.
• Entrants will be informed of the competition entry method and prizes on the House of York website and Facebook page.
• The winner is required to present a copy of a valid South African ID. This competition is only open to South African citizens residing in the city of Cape Town.
• The prize is not transferable and cannot be deferred or exchanged for cash.
• The prize will only be issued after the close of the competition.
• The winner may be required to appear on the House of York and Eveready social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube), or in printed publications, for which no fee will be payable.
• Eveready (Pty) Ltd / House of York and its associate advertising agency/sponsor reserve the right to cancel the competition without any prior notice and at any time, if deemed necessary in their opinion, or if circumstances arise outside of their control.
• In the event of such cancellation, all participants agree to waive any rights that they may have in terms of this competition and acknowledge that they have no recourse against Eveready (Pty) Ltd, House of York, their employees, agents, partners, sponsors or promoters.
• The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
• Eveready (Pty) Ltd / House of York will not be held responsible for any delay in delivery of any prizes awarded.

• Eveready (Pty) Ltd / House of York will endeavour to contact the prize winner for seven days following their names having been drawn. If, however, that person cannot be reached, the prize will be forfeited and another winner selected.
• You are providing your contact information only to Eveready (Pty) Ltd / House of York and Advertising Agency thereof. We ensure that your information will not be shared with any third party applications or companies.
• Please ensure that you provide the correct contact, email and physical address details. For prize delivery - ensure that you provide an address at which someone will be available during office hours.
• Eveready (Pty) Ltd / House of York reserves the right to withdraw any prize granted to an entrant who is deemed ineligible for the prize.
