Makro Ottery Cook Off Competition
House of York in cooperation with Makro Ottery in the Western Cape, presented the 2nd Annual ‘Makro Ottery Cook Off Competition’ on the 1 June 2013. The objective of the competition was to build the House of York brand and to create a strong brand presence while encouraging enthusiastic Makro Shoppers to have fun.
Walk in Makro card holders were invited to participate in the competition by cooking an innovative curry dish that would blow their fellow shopper judges minds. House of York rolling pins, cutting boards and utensils were sponsored for contestants to use. House of York is all about ‘Living Creativity’, and boy, were we impressed with the innovative dishes served up by the contestants. Even though it was a cold winter’s day, there was an atmosphere of excitement and enthusiasm.
Various lucky draws were held, adding to the festive atmosphere of the competition. The House of York Deluxe Ironing board, and various other products, were won by shoppers.
Hundreds of passing shoppers watched how the talented Chefs displayed their culinary abilities. Judges, who were also shoppers, had to vote for the best curry and thereby the next Makro chef was chosen. The winning chef won a R1000 Makro voucher and the runner up, a R500 voucher.
