6 Things You Can Do To Get Ready for Christmas Early

6 Things You Can Do To Get Ready for Christmas Early - november hoy

In theory, you may feel like Christmas is still far away, but if you take a closer look at the calendar, you will be surprised to see that it is not as far away as you thought.

But do not let this knowledge put you in a tizzy – we are here to help you get ready for Christmas early and to help you ensure that the festive season runs smoothly.

Let’s take a look at six things that you can do to get ready for Christmas early.

1. Create a Gift List

Shopping for friends and family is not the easiest when there are a bunch of people that need to receive gifts during the festive season. The last thing you want is to forget to pick a gift for Aunt Sophie or your new little nephew.

That being said – start a gift list!

Instead of trying to do all your shopping in one day, start planning what you want to buy for each person. This will save you time and help ensure each person receives a gift that they will love.

If you feel more digitally inclined, you can even start an Excel spreadsheet on Google Drive where the family can set up their own wish list for you to choose from.

2. Set Some Time Aside for Yourself

With all the festive planning that needs to be done, it can be quite easy to forget that you need some downtime to enjoy your holiday too. Watching some holiday movies, spending time reading or laying on the beach does not make you selfish.

You need some time for yourself too.

Plus, with your mind cleared, it may be easier to get all your Christmas planning done without too much stress.

3. Start Wrapping all the Gifts

While gift wrapping can be fun for the first couple of gifts, it can also become rather tedious and result in feelings of mild frustration – okay maybe more than ‘mild’!

To avoid getting your Christmas spirits down, be sure to do your wrapping in stages. The easiest way to do this is to wrap as you buy. Or, if all else fails just buy a bunch of gift bags and your wrapping problems will disappear.

But there’s always the option of just buying enveloped gift vouchers too – the decision is up to you.

4. Make a Christmas Playlist

If you are going to be cleaning the house, wrapping gifts and doing some festive baking then you are going to need some help getting into the festive spirit.

Make yourself a Christmas playlist with all your favourite Christmas tunes – plus platforms like Spotify and YouTube make this super easy and convenient to do.

So like in your festive playlist and get into the festive spirit!

5. Make a Budget

This is the biggest problem that people experience over the festive season but it is also one that can be avoided with some planning.

As much as you would love to have that 5-course meal at dinner, maybe a 3-course meal is more financially savvy for your budget. Do your planning ahead of time to avoid disappointment and other financial losses that will put a damper on your holiday plans.

And don’t forget to stick to it!

6. Fill your Christmas Calendar

It’s not only your budget that requires some planning – be sure to give yourself ample time for cooking, baking, shopping, spending time with your loved ones and for yourself. By planning your holiday time you can make sure to get everything crossed off your list without interfering with some of your other festive plans.

But also feel free to leave some spaces blank so that you can also make room for some spontaneity and whimsy – it is the festive season after all!
