5 Easy DIY Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas

5 Easy DIY Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas - february hoy

We are five days into the “Month of Love” with little over a week left until the big day! Finding the best way to show your love and appreciation isn’t always easy but nothing beats showing how much you care than with a homemade gift.

Here are 5 easy DIY Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas that your loved ones are sure to cherish.

1. Love Rocks

This is definitely a craft that can be done from home since the supplies can be fetched straight from the backyard. If your loved one enjoys spending their time in the garden, why not brighten their day with some of these adorable love rocks?

What you will need:

  • Rocks from the garden
  • Different colour paints
  • Paintbrush
  • Modge podge

Paint a heart, their favourite animal or leave a heartfelt message on its surface. Be sure to seal it with some modge podge once it’s dried off to protect them from the rain outdoors. Also makes for great paperweights or desk decorations!

2. Heart Magnets

Even if your sweetheart doesn’t enjoy spending time cooking and baking in the kitchen, everyone has to make a journey to the fridge at least once in a day!

These heart magnets are cute, super easy to make and will remind your loved one just how much you care each time they open up the fridge.

What you will need:

  • Moulding clay
  • Magnets
  • Glue gun
  • Modge Podge
  • Paint
  • Paintbrush

Simply start by moulding your clay into a heart-shape. Once you are happy with the shape you have created, you can set them aside to dry. The clay needs to be completely dry before you can go ahead and paint them.

Once dry, glue a magnet to the back of your hearts using a glue gun. Set aside for about an hour to make sure that the glue has completely dried.

Now comes the fun part - grab your paint and get to painting those hearts! If you find it difficult to paint them while holding them, simply place them against a magnetic surface and paint them like that!

Once the paint has dried, add a layer of modge podge to seal the paint and they are ready to be displayed on your fridge.

If you do not want to make hearts, then choose something else to make. It would look adorable regardless!

3. A Bag Full of Favourites

When we head to the supermarket there are always a couple of items that our heads tend to turn to while packing in all the daily essentials. Whether these are chocolates, cookies, chips or an array of sweeties – you should know what makes your sweety’s head turn in the store!

This craft is super easy and makes for days of yummy enjoyment (remember: the calories do not count in February)

What you will need:

  • Brown paper bag
  • String
  • Pen and Paper
  • Glue
  • Gift tissue paper
  • Goodies to go in the bag

The first step is to take a trip to the supermarket and throw in all of your sweetheart's favourite yummies. Once you’re home, write out a small message and glue it to your brown paper bag. Be sure to make the message as sweet as the contents!

Put all the goodies inside the bag, top it off with some gift tissue paper to hide the contents and tie some string around the bag to finish it off (or for some extra “no peaking” measures).
